The MASEERATI GRANTURISMO is first two doors, four-seater coupe and has much more to flaunt then its body with a great sex appeal, it’s a perfect blend of power and elegance .It also displays the innovations and impact of Bridcage 75th, the futuristic concept car that in 2005, suggested the lines for MASARATI’S future models. MASARATI is also known for its high performance, comfort, driving pleasure and above all luxury and safety.

Engineers of MASARATI have done a great on job the car’s flat plane crank V8 which produces around 450 bhp and displays all the characteristics of competition level power unit .This have become possible with its new intake system and completion catalytic converter .The other new thing about it is the suspension have been altered to fit 18 × 12 inch front and 18×13- inch rear wheels. New diffuser as well as a center exiting exhaust have given a new look to the cars front and rear .The cock pit has been chopped for weight reduction.

The interiors of MASERATI GRANTURISMO have a very charming design in combination with luxurious material. The POLTRONA FRAU leather upholstery undergoes careful treatment before it is ready to be used in MASERATI .The front seats are electronically controlled .The ‘ easy entry’ system powers the front seats forward to allow ample space for rear passenger to climb on board .

GRANTURISMO IS A combination of luxury and ergonomics and comfort, a superb combination that can be appreciated in the satisfying aroma of the leather, the precious wood and detail of stitching .The cabin has been handicraft and care taken in its designing is clear .The finish is clean and Trident logo on the headrest and alcantara used on the back of the gear shift paddles adds to give great feeling inside.

The high tech Bose surround sound audio system further improves enjoyment in side the car .The placement of the eleven speakers was done after intensive study in order to adapt them to cabins acoustics, resulting in musical production comparable to that found in concert halls.
MASARATI GRANTURISMO is a perfect car for luxury sports coupe lovers. Its all interior features make the person feel like being at home with all luxury. Any how as it’s a sports car so it should be able to reach higher point on speedometer and I feel it does it very easily and in a great way.

Whay Lotus Sport unveils 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport?

Whay Lotus Sport unveils 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport?

Lotus Sport unveiled its new 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport race car today. As the pinnacle of the 2-Eleven range, the new GT4 Supersport is only certified for track use in the European SRO GT4 Supersports class.

Pricing for an initial run of 10 cars starts at £78,255 ($117,314 USD) with deliveries beginning in March 2009 for the racing season.

Upgrades over a standard Lotus 2-Eleven include an increase of power to 270hp and peak torque of 182 lb-ft., a full roll cage, a rigid tonneau cover to improve aerodynamics, stiffer race springs, adjustable Ohlins dampers, race spec rear toe links, and more.

By request, Lotus will also perform retrofits for current Lotus 2-Eleven owners to bring their cars up to most of the GT4 Supersport’s specifications.

For more information on the Lotus 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport, read the press release below:

Racebred 2-Eleven Unleashed

The Lotus Sport 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport race car asserts itself at the pinnacle of the 2-Eleven range, combining race winning pedigree with unparalleled handling and balance.

Building on the success of the 2-Eleven road and track variants, Lotus Sport has developed this GT4 Supersport race car to compete in the European SRO GT4 Supersports category.

The Lotus Sport GT4 Supersport pushes the limits to the extreme: wearing a dramatic composite body, full rollcage and with increased power and a sequential gearbox it provides a race winning package. The GT4 Supersport offers an advanced aerodynamic package, with aggressive styling alluding to its searing performance and phenomenal racing potential.

Mike Kimberley, CEO of Group Lotus plc said, "Lotus has an enviable motor racing heritage that includes some of the most successful racing cars in history. We are confident that the 2-Eleven will continue our winning tradition and become a classic of the future. The 2-Eleven GT4 Supersport offers one of the most cost effective, competitive and easiest routes into this level of motorsport".

Lotus Sport has increased the power and torque available in the GT4 Supersport car to 270 PS and 247 Nm from the standard supercharged cars 255 PS and 242 Nm engine. The increases in power and torque have been gained through improved induction and exhaust systems, and with a high ratio supercharger drive system for increased levels of boost. To maximise the upgrades to the engine the engine management system has been remapped and optimised.

Lotus Sport is offering a 6 speed sequential gearbox with a centrally mounted push/ pull lever and gear selector display. The gearbox is integrated with the engine management system to allow flat shifts up through the box and an "autoblip" rev matching system on downchange. This transmission offers lightning quick gear changes, shaving those all important tenths off each gear change. A plate type limited slip differential, employed to improve traction out of corners competes the setup.

Chris Arnold, Head of Lotus Sport, said "the GT4 Supersport has some exceptional new features and provides a compelling package that has race winning credentials. This is a hugely exciting new car for Lotus Sport, we have already had good success in mainland Europe with the test car and we are looking forward to our customers successes in the 2009 season".

There will be an initial run limited to 10 cars priced at £78 255 MSRP with delivery dates in March ready for the '09 racing season. Some GT4 Supersport features can be retro-fitted to 2-Elevens that have already been purchased, offering increased versatility and allowing owners to upgrade their car as they hone their skills.

The 2-Eleven double wishbone suspension is uprated with stiffer race focused springs and dampers. The dampers are the race proven 2-way adjustable Ohlins units, allowing the handling to be fine tuned for optimum track setup. The rear suspension has been upgraded with the addition of race spec rear toe links. Semi-slick AO48 Yokohama's are fitted as standard.

Another new addition for 2009 is the Lotus manufactured FIA compliant carbon fibre race seats. The Lotus Sport seats are HANS approved and are complimented with a Schroth 6-point race harness. A 70 litre FIA approved bag tank is fitted as part of the GT4 Supersport spec along with a plumbed-in fire extinguisher system. A concession to easier ingress and egress comes in the form of a removable Lotus Sport steering wheel.

The GT4 Supersport has a rigid tonneau cover to improve aerodynamics. The aero package is improved with significant levels of downforce generated by a carbon fibre rear wing and rear diffuser, balanced by a deep front splitter. The GT4 Supersport generates up to 80 kg of positive downforce at 100 mph, which is over 10 % of the cars weight.

The race car retains the excellent sports tuned ABS, variable traction control and launch control systems available on the current 2-Eleven. These race proven systems have been thoroughly tested and give exceptional feel and control in a wide variety of conditions.

2008 Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Photo picture Gallery

2008 Mini John Cooper Works Challenge Photo picture Gallery
MINI performance is to be taken to new levels with the new MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE, a MINI Cooper S built specifically for track use and ready to race. Set for its first public appearance at the forthcoming IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt, deliveries of the new car will take place from spring 2008.

Key characteristics of the new car include a higher top speed, increased torque, faster acceleration and optimised traction. Performance figures are detailed in the attached document.

Power enhancements are at the core of the striking CHALLENGE car's modifications. As well as a re-developed twin-scroll turbocharger, the standard MINI Cooper S engine receives modified pistons, air filter, air intake passage, catalytic converter, exhaust components, electronic sensors and engine management system.

Numerous chassis and suspension tweaks add to what is a finely-tuned racing package. The new suspension system features adjustable damper units from KW Automotive, designed specifically for motorsport. A six-speed manual gearbox transmits power to 17" front wheels made by Borbet and shod with exclusive new racing tyres manufactured by Dunlop.

Body revisions based on the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit, currently available from all MINI dealers, are key features of the CHALLENGE car's set-up. To generate increased downforce at higher speeds, CHALLENGE car owners can expect a new adjustable rear spoiler, rear diffuser and performance front spoiler. The new braking system performs exceptionally. Large four-piston calipers mean the car can go from 62 - 0mph in just 3.1 seconds. A race-specific ABS configuration and an air-pressure elevating system complete the product modifications, which together equate to a vehicle 30kg lighter than the previous CHALLENGE car.

Safety measures perfect the array of MINI CHALLENGE car features. A roll cage welded firmly to the body of the car houses RECARO bucket seats combined with a six-point safety belt, along with the HANS (Head And Neck Support) system used in Formula 1 cars.

Although the car is designed for race participation, private owners may find owning a MINI CHALLENGE car a compelling prospect. However, the car will not be licensed for public roads and as such is expected to maintain its appeal among racing enthusiasts.

The MINI Challenge race series is fast gaining presence and popularity around the world. Since 2004, Challenge races have been staged in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and New Zealand. In 2008, MINI Australia will also hold a Challenge competition.

Race teams will receive the first MINI CHALLENGE cars from March 2008. Private customers not competing in the MINI Challenge series can expect deliveries of cars from June 2008. An order form for the car can be downloaded from 11 September 2007 and the expected price is €49,900 inc. VAT.

TheGeneva:Audi Q7 Coastline Concept

The Geneva:Audi Q7 Coastline Concept
Don’t be alarmed by the accompanying pictures of the Audi Q7 V12 TDI. WCF has not gone sinkers on you; we haven’t become a floating website, in a manner of speaking. The Q7 V12 TDI Coastline Concept is meant for the majority of those who may not be able to afford the seven next steps required to buy a real luxury yacht.
For that small crowd of us, Audi has served up the Q7 V12 TDI concept, a study in mixing water and oil. The vehicle is the same V12 TDI seen elsewhere in these pages, with several important visual distinctions. The wood seen all over the interior is reflective of its name Coastline, while the special white finishing is meant to created a the pearl effect of the polar regions.
Several wooden touches are evident, including the gear lever, rear load area and inner door sills. This wood is waxed, as opposed to being varnished for that added ocean sort of feel to it. Pushing the Coastline forward is a V12 TDI motor blasting out 368kW and 1,000Nm of torqueAudi is presenting a very special concept car at the Geneva Motor Show: The Audi Q7 coastline combines the breathtaking power of a twelve-cylinder TDI with the elegant style of an exclusive yacht. A large part of the high-performance SUV’s exterior and interior is bathed in a trendy white. Under the hood resides the world’s strongest diesel engine in a series-production vehicle – the six-liter V12 capable of delivering 368 kW (500 hp) of power.
The Audi Q7 coastline comes in Inuit, a special white that creates a pearl effect reminiscent of the glistening luminance of the polar region. Audi, the leading brand in automotive design, initiated a popular trend with this color years ago – studies such as the white Shooting Brake Concept displayed at the Geneva Motor Show 2006 have become style-setters.

In contrast to the production version of the Q7 V12 TDI, the casing for the exterior mirrors on the Audi Q7 coastline is white as well; the single-frame radiator grill and the side air intake slots come in dark High Gloss Steel. The Audi Q7 coastline has the same body modifications as the Audi Q7 V12 TDI, with widened wheel arches and striking front and back bumpers that immediately catch the eye.
The equally stylish and trendy interior is dominated by alabaster white, a color popular on luxury yachts. Also in luminous white are the carpet, embroidered floor mats made of fine wool, pillar trim, roof lining, seat upholstery made of plush velvet and Valcona leather, seatbelts, steering wheel, the front of the cockpit and the door trim. The majority of the switches and controls as well as the instrument panel with cowl are likewise in this trendy color from Audi.

In the interior, additional accents are set by aluminum elements on components such as the air inlet nozzles and door handles. Further trendy touches include nut brown piping on the seats as well as fine brown piping on the instrument panel and the door. Parts of the armrest, the gearshift lever knob and the inner door sill trims are made of American walnut veneer in which thin strips made of dark smoked oak wood have been embedded as a further maritime reference. The same combination can also be found on the floor of the luggage compartment, which contains two integrated folding boxes. The wood is waxed, not varnished. As a result, the pores in the wood remain open, giving it a uniquely charming feel and silky glow.

Under the hood of the Audi Q7 coastline concept car resides a concentrated powerhouse: The V12 TDI is writing a whole new chapter in the annals of diesel technology. Drawing on 5,934 cm3 of displacement, the six-liter engine delivers 368 kW (500 hp) of power and an impressive 1,000 Nm (757.56 lb-ft) of torque between 1,750 and 3,000 rpm. As a result, the vehicle performs like a world-class sportscar – sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). On average, the world’s only 12-cylinder diesel engine in a passenger car uses just 11.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (19.77 mpg) – a much better figure than comparable gasoline engines from competitors.
The unique diesel power of the Audi Q7 with V12 TDI engine is not the only factor to render it the ultimate high-performance SUV. Equally sporty in nature are the vehicle’s six-speed tiptronic and quattro drive as well as running gear with adaptive air suspension. Behind the large wheels are ceramic brake disks. A DVD navigation system, a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System and leather seats with electric heating and adjustment switches are symptomatic of the luxurious standards in the Audi Q7 coastline.

The luxury Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

The Lamborghini Gallardo (/É¡alˈlaɾdo/) is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini’s most-produced model to date, with 5,000 built in the first three years of production. It is less expensive than Lamborghini’s larger, more powerful Murciélago.

The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The Spanish word gallardo (/É¡aˈʎaɾðo/) translates into “gallant,” and from Italian into “striking”.

The Gallardo was designed as a competitor to the Ferrari 360, and now competes with its replacement, the Ferrari F430. The Gallardo has a rear-biased all-wheel drive system which differentiates it from its rear-wheel drive competitors. Lamborghini’s parent company Audi is renowned for its quattro 4WD system, however Lamborghini uses a system of its own.

Unlike the Countach, Diablo, and Murciélago models, the Gallardo does not have scissor doors.

The Gallardo was designed by Luc Donckerwolke, who won the 2003 Red Dot Award for the design of both the 2004 Gallardo and 2002 Murciélago.

At current U.S. prices, a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo coupe costs USD $186,250 - $222,800, while a 2008

The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled ’semi-automatic single-clutch sequential manual’, which Lamborghini abbreviates to “E-gear”. The “E-gear” allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, and does not need to manually actuate the clutch.

The Audi R8 sports car, launched in early 2007, is based on the Gallardo platform, and uses a 4.2 litre V8 in place of the Gallardo’s V10 to avoid competing directly with the Gallardo.

For the 2008 model year, an onboard computer, iPod connectivity with USB, heated mirrors, Q-citura stitching that originally could only be found on the Nera model, and a beige soft-top on the Spyder, were added to the Gallardo.

Superleggera

A special version of the Gallardo, dubbed the Superleggera, was launched at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show supposedly in preparation for the next Ferrari 430 Scuderia. The Superleggera is lighter than the base Gallardo by around 70 kg (154 lb) - down to approximately 1,360 kg (3,000 lb) - thanks to the use of carbon fibre panels for the rear diffuser, undertray, the rearview-mirror housings, the interior door panels, the central tunnel, and the engine cover. Even the wheel nuts are made of titanium instead of steel to save even more unsprung weight at each corner of the car. According to the original Press Release issued by the factory the superleggera was available in four colors only : Midas Yellow, Borealis Orange, Telesto Gray and Noctis Black, however at least one white Superleggera has been built.

The intake, exhaust and ECU have been upgraded to release an extra 10 hp (7.5 kW) for a total of 530 hp (395 kW). The lightening and extra power result in a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than the base Gallardo. The 6-speed e-gear transmission, usually a US$ 10,000 option, now comes as a standard. The full price for a Superleggera with everything on it runs for over $200,000. Lamborghini began offering the Gallardo Superleggera in June 2007. In March 2008, Lamborghini announced that they had ceased production of the Gallardo Superleggera. In August 20, 2008 was published information about lawsuit filed by Swiss-based Touring Superleggera Markenverwaltungsgesellschaft AG against several companies including Lamborghini on trademark infringements.[7] The company owns the trademarks of the Carrozzeria Touring.

Luxury Artega GT

Luxury Artega GT
German electronics supplier Paragon has formed a company to produce a two-seat sports car called the Artega GT. The compact sexy shape is the work of designer Henrik Fisker, who formerly was chief of design for Aston Martin .
The Artega GT has a low front grille, exposed headlamps and clean body surfaces punctuated by side intakes for the rear-mounted engine. That rear-mounted engine provides for ample luggage space and an optional integrated child safety seat behind the front buckets.

The vehicle features aluminum space-frame construction and a carbon-fiber skin. At the rear is mounted a VW 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 300 bhp. The Artega GT is also equipped with VW's patented Dual Shift Gate (DSG) sequential-shift manual that has an automatic clutch. The lightweight Artega GT, which tips the scales at approximately 2400 lb., is expected to be able to post 0-60-mph times of less than 6 seconds.

The cars will be built in Delbruck, Germany, at an assembly plant that will be in operation by the end of the year. The Artega GT will retail for under $100,000, and the company plans exports to the United States.

New Donkervoort D8 GT

New Donkervoort D8 GT
If Donkervoort sounds Dutch, that's because it is. The Lelystad-based company has been building high-performance roadsters in the vein of the Lotus Super Seven for almost three decades. But at the Geneva show, Donkervoort will unveil its first hardtop-the D8 GT.
Donkervoort says it has improved on the D8's already-competent platform with uprated suspension, hydraulic automatic height adjustment and an under-floor sandwich cover-handling is expected to be even more precise. The GT uses a carbon-fiber body with gullwing doors that swing up and forward. Fixed side windows and the heated rear window are made of polycarbonate specially developed by General Electric. Total weight increased by just 44 lb., up to 1344 lb.

Aerodynamics are better, too, Joop Donkervoort expecting even stronger performance than delivered by the already quick open 2-seater (0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds for the highest-horsepower version, which uses a 270-bhp turbocharged Audi 4-cylinder). Though the $118,000 D8 GT has yet to be tested, Donkervoort expects it will break the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for street-legal cars of 7:14.89, set by a Donkervoort in 2005 - that's already 14 sec. quicker than the Porsche Carrera GT!
