Artega GT, 2008

Artega GT, 2008

The Design features: agility, driving dynamics and safety

The high-grade drive components of the Volkswagen Group are installed as rear engine traverse to the direction of travel. The 3.6-litre V6 is the ideal drive for a vehicle of this class. Along with the highly praised and well-tried direct-shift gearbox, the engine is mounted in a compact module made of highstrength steel tubes. The backs of the comfortable sports seats fold back to make loading easier. Especially effective crash modules as well as a steel side-collision protection as essential features of the passive safety system protect the passengers with front and side airbags in the case of accident. To ensure a maximum of active safety, the Artega GT design integrates state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, such as ASP (Artega Stability Program) such as the electronic stability program ASP (Artega), ABS and the traction control TC. Just as in other super sports cars, four different drive programs can be selected at the Headunit: Normal (ASP with early intervention, TC on), Sport (ASP with later intervention, TC on), Race (ASP off, TC on) and Off (ASP off, TC off).

In designing the body and interior of the car, great care was taken to consider the needs and comfort of the occupants. The generous amount of space compared to the extremely compact overall dimensions, numerous convenient interior places to put things and two separate luggage compartments (one behind the seats and the other under the front hood) are exceptional for a car this size. Such storage conditions were made possible by the engine's transverse installation in the rear. Though the Artega GT provides phenomenal handling performance and drive capabilities, the chassis fine-tuning ensures that comfort in no way comes too short. Even long trips will be savoured in happy memory by the driver and passenger - and even if the top cruising range provided by the optional 80-litre tank is fully used.

Operation: paragon makes driving easier, more pleasant, and safer
The competence of the electronic specialists at paragon AG has provided comprehensive innovative systems for operation and driver information. One of the primary concerns of the Artega idea is to prove their benefit in the Artega GT.With innovative sensor buttons and the unique dual-pointer dashboard for road speed and engine speed, paragon offers a novel ambience as a significant, distinctive attribute of the Artega GT.These features are emphasized by a plaque with the inscription "Cockpit systems from paragon" in the interior of the vehicle.

Luxury Artega GT

Luxury Artega GT
German electronics supplier Paragon has formed a company to produce a two-seat sports car called the Artega GT. The compact sexy shape is the work of designer Henrik Fisker, who formerly was chief of design for Aston Martin .
The Artega GT has a low front grille, exposed headlamps and clean body surfaces punctuated by side intakes for the rear-mounted engine. That rear-mounted engine provides for ample luggage space and an optional integrated child safety seat behind the front buckets.

The vehicle features aluminum space-frame construction and a carbon-fiber skin. At the rear is mounted a VW 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 300 bhp. The Artega GT is also equipped with VW's patented Dual Shift Gate (DSG) sequential-shift manual that has an automatic clutch. The lightweight Artega GT, which tips the scales at approximately 2400 lb., is expected to be able to post 0-60-mph times of less than 6 seconds.

The cars will be built in Delbruck, Germany, at an assembly plant that will be in operation by the end of the year. The Artega GT will retail for under $100,000, and the company plans exports to the United States.

Artega GT Intro 2008 Model at Geneva Motor Show

Artega‘s GT Intro 2008 has come out in Geneva with a few special enhancements over its normal GT model these fittings are quite a number on the list, so we’ll touch on just a few. These include two distinct colours of Vanilla Yellow and Deep Sea Blue, the latter seen in these fine pictures.

Artega has chosen to go classical with the Intro 2008 models, especially inside where things may appear basic, but are beneath the surface quite sophisticated.

Forged lightweight wheels roll in Michelin tyres measuring 8“ x 19“ by the front side with 235/35 ZR 19 tyres and 10.5“ x 19“ at the back with 305/30 ZR 19 tyres.

Driver assistance is standard with ABS, however, the traction control system will only kick in in the spring of 2009. Artega GT works with a 3.6-litre V6 that does 220kW on the dyno using a 6-speed direct transmission gearbox to achieve its 0 – 100km/h time of under 5 seconds. It will only run out of breath at 270km/h. All 99 examples of this car are priced at €79,790/ USD121,879.
