Invite Cadillac SLS GM's Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center developed the SLS for the Chinese market, based on the standard-wheelbase STS sedan. The SLS's wheelbase is four inches longer, and it adds features like leather interior upholstery, wood trim, and upgraded rear seats, making it a "premium business car" suitable for chauffeur-driven executives. The flagship SLS variant has a 320-hp, 4.6-liter V8 engine. Starting this year, GM will also export the SLS from China to Middle Eastern markets. The Pan Asia Center is a 50-50 joint venture between GM and a Chinese partner, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp.
